100% nil injury record!

Parasailing is the safest form of parachuting, because the parachute is inflated before you’re attached to it. This makes the whole experience safe, yet exhilarating at the same time. Click here to see how it works.

Thank you for visiting the website of Humber Parascending -
offering a safe parasailing experience for people of all ages

Humber Parascending was started in 1999. The aim was to provide people in the UK with a chance to experience the thrill of parasailing in a safe and controlled environment. The company was formed by Steve Webb who as a qualified health and safety trainer/consultant was horrified to hear of all the serious injuries and in some cases deaths caused by negligent parasailing operators around the world. Steve has combined his own love of extreme activities with his knowledge of health and safety to provide others with a chance to take part in an exhilarating sport normally only available outside of the UK. Humber Parascending’s commitment to keeping safety as its number one priority  is reflected in the company’s 100% nil injury record.

If you are planning to go parasailing, but you’re unsure about the safety of the sport be sure to check out our essential safety checklist here

  • Humber Parascending was proud to be the first company to enable a disabled person to parasail over 6 miles. You can view the amazing video footage of "Wheelchair Steve's" mammoth parasail here. Over £1000 was raised for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation as a result.
  • Travel journalist Simon Calder thoroughly enjoyed his parasailing trip with Humber Parascending when he visited Hull to film a tourist information video centred around the Humber Bridge. Rather than take the easy option of walking across the bridge, Simon decided he would like to fly him alongside of it instead! The Humber Parascending team were happy to oblige!
  • Take a look at the BBC Humber web site for film footage and interviews with Ryan Proctor and company owner - Steve Webb. Ryan was the youngest person to take part in Humber Parascending’s annual Fly for Free Challenge, when at the age of 12 he raised over £250 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

It is with great regret that we have decided to suspend our services. As our regular customers know, since proving the viability of using the River Humber for leisure purposes, our business has been undermined by publicly funded opposition and a lack of co-operation from the local councils. The B.H.P.A. who were formerly our governing body have also severely restricted our operations. The final straw has been having to resort to using the Freedom of Information Act to obtain health and safety information from the council essential to the day to day running of our business. It is next to impossible to operate under these conditions. We will shortly be publishing a website outlining all of our experiences from starting Humber Parascending in 1999 to the present time. If you are interested to read this, then please bookmark this page and visit again.

We are very proud of our 100% nil injury record, the fact that we have provided thousands of people from all over the country with an amazing experience, and raised thousands of pounds for various charities despite all the opposition we have faced. Our sincere thanks go to everyone who has used our services over the last 11 years.
